Work and research experience
I started working at the Universitat de Barcelona as a pre-doctoral research assistant supervised by Dr Carmen Muñoz (2003 - 2006). Since 2006, I have been a lecturer at the Language and Literature Didactics of the Faculty of Education of the Universitat de Barcelona, where I have taught several English language and teaching methodology courses. I also teach a subject in English in the Media Studies degree of the Faculty of Librarianship and Documentation. I am also a certified trainer in the use of the Moodle Virtual Campus. I have taught several Moodle courses organized by the Institute of Education Sciences (former ICE, currently Institut de Desenvolupament Professional, IDP) and of the LifeLong Learning Institute of the Universitat de Barcelona. In these institutions I have also worked as a teacher trainer of higher education teachers.
Interested in aptitude, I validated the MLAT-EC and contributed to the validation of the MLAT-ES, tests that measure the language learning aptitude of young learners (aged 8-13). I have continued working on aptitude in the GRAL projects, directed by Dr Carmen Muñoz, using both the MLAT-EC and the LLAMA tests.
I have also collaborated with the DRE_DIX and RealTIC groups, both of which directed by Dr Joan-Tomàs Pujolà, delving in the study of discourse analysis in electronic environments and in gamification, respectively. I also belong to the Institut de Recerca en Educació of the Universitat de Barcelona since June 2022.
I was also a member of the EMP-L Portfolio project, investigating the links between language and music learning in primary education.
I have also collaborated in the project titled "La formación de la conciencia figurativa en la etapa de Educación Primaria: El humor y la fraseología", directed by Dr Larissa Timofeeva (Universitat d'Alacant).
Regarding teaching innovation, I was a member of the DIDAL group, working for long on the ECAL (Espai Comú per a l'Aprenentatge de Llengües) project, revolving around the use of e-portfolios, reflective learning and the meaningful use of ICT tools. I have also participated in the UB Moodle try-outs at the UB since 2007. I belong to the GID_DLL teaching innovation group since July 2022.
Actively involved in the Faculty of Education happenings, I was a member of the Faculty of Education Board from 2012 till 2016, and back again since 2022. I have also been a member of the Coordination Board of the English Section since 2018. I have also coordinated the English Language subjects of the Degrees in Early Years and Primary School Education (2017-2020) and run the Didacticae. Journal of Research in Specific Didactics since 2016.
